True Resort Living in Colonia Miramonte – Paradise Valley, AZ
One of my favorite luxurious communities in Paradise Valley, Arizona is Colonia Miramonte. The name meaning “Colony with a Mountain View”, has a luxurious mountain view of the Camelback and Mummy mountains, and is located adjacent to Camelback Inn. Construction of Colonia Miramonte started in the mid 60s with the construction of homes on the site where the horse stables were located from the Camelback Inn. Today Colonia Miramonte is a gated community that has 82 homes. It is close in proximity to downtown Phoenix, Old Town Scottsdale, and the airport and shares some of the amenities as the resort. Most of the homes in Colonia Miramonte were built in the mid 60s, but still have an elegant timeless appeal. Camelback Inn and Colonia Miramonte have a lot to offer with their luxurious mountain views, and their all around exclusiveness. Residents of Colonia Miramonte can enjoy many of the amenities of Camelback Inn.
Camelback Inn a luxurious mountain view resort. Located on the southern slope of Mummy Mountain in Paradise Valley, Arizona. This resort was established in 1936 by Jack Stewart and John C. Lincoln. The history behind this iconic resort is that in the 1930s, sportswriter Jack Stewart wanted to build a pueblo-style hotel and it’s beautifully luxurious mountain view. Founder of Lincoln Electric John C. Lincoln was behind the funding of Stewart’s new Southwestern hotel project. The Camelback Inn was acquired in 1968 by Bill Marriott of Marriott International, and in March 2003 it was officially rebranded by its parent corporation as Camelback Inn, a JW Marriott Resort & Spa, and in 2008 it underwent a $48 million expansion and renovation which included the addition of a ballroom and 2 restaurants. The accommodations of the Camelback Inn include: 453 casitas (“small houses”) which includes 18 larger suites, some that include private swimming pools. The spa includes fitness room, aerobics room, six tennis courts, volleyball court, basketball court, and pit-and-putt gold. The Camelback Inn incorporates the Camelback Golf Club with two 18-hole golf courses.
